A studio work from observation and studies roughly 2-1/2 hours from home in Upper Michigan east of Munising, on the 40 miles national lakeshore of the Pictured Rocks. In the distance can be see a little of the four mile stretch of the sand dunes, which can be heights of about 450'...and interestingly, it can take you fifteen minutes to work your way down, and likely 2-3 hours trying to get back up. And a whole lot tired!
